Look Busy

Judie Boom

Genre: Theatre Duration: 60 mins Price: £8 (+ booking fee) Age: 14yrs+

When the robots have taken our jobs, what on EARTH will we do with our time?!

In this solo, interactive comedy show, Judie Boom dives headfirst into the sticky dilemmas of AI, automation, and the future of work. Blending stand-up, storytelling, and theatrical mayhem, Look Busy is part comedy show, part speculative adventure. Expect big laughs, surprising facts, and a healthy dose of the bonkers. Featuring a home-made time-travel device, a vintage ‘parp’ horn and a giant spacehopper.

Following her critically praised Apocalypse Kapow, Judie returns with a show that feels like Sarah Millican meets Black Mirror — funny, thoughtful, and full of heart.

“AI... Automation... Robotics... we’re being replaced!” Judie declares — but are we really? With warmth and wit, the show asks: what would you do if you (and everyone you knew) never had to work again? And would you ever want a robot wiping your bum?

A whistlestop ride of laughter and insight, Look Busy offers a hopeful, accessible look at what it really means to be human in an automated age. As one audience member put it:
“Judie’s shows always have me thinking about the content days afterwards — funny and clever at the same time.”

Majority 5⭐ audience reviews at Dundee and Lambeth Fringe
“Boom’s performance radiates approachability and warmth. (Look Busy's) performer charms, its premise intrigues...” (Reviews Hub)

For anyone curious about how work might change - and who likes a laugh at silly things. Whether you’re a farmer or a freelancer, just starting out or retired, it will strike a chord with those trying to keep up with modern life. Take a few facts from it, have a laugh - or both - it’s up to you!
