Humdinger Words for Lollygaggers & Fuddy-Duddies is a fast-paced comedy-cabaret poetry show that blends sharp wordplay, visual gags, mind-boggling trivia and moments of genuine mentalism into a tightly crafted, unforgettable hour of laughs, learning and surprise.

Performed by multidisciplinary, neurospicy jack-of-all-trades Ben Dali, the show draws on a background spanning hypnosis, gameshows, cabaret and primary school teaching. That unusual mix allows the performance to shift rapidly between styles and moods, moving confidently from infectious sincerity to unapologetic filth, very much channelling Rik’s ethos.

At its heart, the show is a playful celebration of language in all its forms. Highlights include a journey through some of the finest 'Humdinger Words' in the English language; innocent childhood poems juxtaposed with depraved adult sequels; lists of history's most incredible facts; a musical tour of Dali’s record-worthy tattoos; interactive rap; and a visual comedy treat comparing country outlines to their outlandish doppelgängers.

Dali also performs live demonstrations of mentalism and hypnotic effect, delivered in rhyme, giving the show a distinctive flavour that sits somewhere between comedy, poetry and cabaret.

Humdinger Words for Lollygaggers & Fuddy-Duddies is ideal for intellectually curious audiences who like to learn and be amazed during comedy shows that subvert genre and expectation, as much as delivering rapid-fire punchlines.
