Darryl J Carrington: Tennish
Darryl J Carrington
Darryl J Carrington is a physical comedian and mostly non-verbal clown who loves messing around with objects, timing and visual gags. He’s been making shows for over twenty years that make people laugh, wonder, and sometimes wonder why they’re laughing at all.
His last show, Out of the Box, won Best Family Friendly Show at Brighton Fringe 2025 and had a brilliant run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025, with critics calling it “utterly absorbing, charming and great fun.” People loved how he could connect with both kids and adults using nothing but inventive physical comedy.
TENNISH is his first proper adult comedy show, premiering at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026. It starts as a tennis show but quickly goes off-court as Darryl discovers what he can do with tennis props — turning rackets, balls and towels into instruments, obstacles and punchlines. It’s playful, chaotic, visual, and all about ambition, performance, and big dreams... with the humour aimed firmly at adults this time.
At its heart, it’s a show about trying, failing, and still finding the funny — bigger laughs, bigger surprises, and all the joy of watching someone just go for it.
