Creativity from Nothing
Robert Lane and Dr. Emma New
Get in touch with your inner creative and explore “creativity from nothing" in a fun, supportive environment. We will be exploring drama, comedy, and improv and considering how these skills can be useful and nurturing in day-to-day life. Let yourself try something new and let your inner critic take a backseat as you grow your skills, stories, and silliness.
Robert Lane is an experienced actor, musician and facilitator. He is a founding member of comedy improvisation groups Improv Wolves and Noteworthy: The Made-Up Musical and is the host of The Robert Lane Creative Careers Podcast which features chats with creatives about their careers and how they make their work. Robert facilitates workshops on topics including songwriting and comedy improvisation and provides regular music and drama sessions for Midland Mencap.
Dr Emma New is a forensic psychiatrist and an improviser with multiple groups in the West Midlands. She runs improv drop-ins for absolute beginners and improvers in Birmingham. Emma has over 10 year's experience of working with people with mental health needs in her role as a doctor in the NHS.
