Aisha Amanduri: God Save the Khan WIP
Aisha Amanduri
Too Kazakh for Britain, too Western for Kazakhstan – and just exotic enough for old men in pubs. In her brand-new work in progress, Aisha Amanduri dives into the absurdity of growing up between cultures, discovering that her parents’ version of Kazakhstan froze sometime in 1995, and that Genghis Khan remains the world’s most over-quoted ancestor.
Aisha explores what it means to be “openly immigrant” in Britain. ADHD tangents, dark twists and historical hot takes collide in a debut that’s as unpredictable as it is heartfelt.
Aisha Amanduri is a South London-based queer Muslim comedian from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. She was a Runner-up at Bath Comedy Fest New Act Award and a Funny Women One-To-Watch (2023). Part of the 2 Muslim 2 Furious double-act, she's sold-out 2 Edinburgh Fringe runs and has performed at Soho Theatre, Angel Comedy, and Leicester Square Theatre.
