Adventures in Dementia
Steve Day
Join comedian Steve Day for a unique event specifically designed for those living with dementia and their companion. Join comedian Steve Day for a witty but deeply moving memoir of his father’s life, Steve will be performing an updated version of his critically acclaimed Edinburgh Festival show Adventures in Dementia.
The show shares the heartfelt and humorous realities of living with dementia. And looks back on the life and times of the person Roy Day was before this terrible disease took over.
He’ll be playing some musical tunes and favourite hits from the 70s that accompany and trigger the memories and singing along is encouraged, if only to drown out Steve’s terrible singing.
This is a relaxed performance where movement and noise are absolutely fine.
Steve Day is a professional stand-up comedian, and has been for many years. This show is his most personal work, and he says it’s the thing he’s most proud of.
Dementia is not funny, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some comfort and joy to be found in celebrating the lives of our loved ones who now suffer.
The ticket price of £10 is for 2 people and includes cake and a hot drink.
There will be a collection in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.
This event is supported by Droitwich Spa Comedy Festival CIC, Wellbeing at the Crafty Cafe CIC and Worcestershire County Councillor Richard Morris.
